Unforgivable Vintage

Famous for its boost feature and distorted tones, the craze for the very popular pedal continues to this day, long after its initial production from 1994 to 2009. With prices soaring incomparably for a pedal with 3 knobs, it's no wonder that guitarists like Jeff Beck, Joe Perry, John Mayer, and Josh Homme found all the mythical magic of the original pedals to be worth the fame. The Warm Audio Centavo is a faithful to the original overdrive pedal that authentically recreates the legendary experience and beloved tones of the original, legendary pedal.

Legacy at Your Feet

Whether you're chasing fairy-tale boost tones, edge-of-breakup distortion, or want to push the rhythm channel into true grit – the Centavo has all the beloved tones of the original pedal. The Centavo comfortably functions as a boost pedal, while the saturation at higher gain settings offers a platform for truly transparent and clean distorted rhythm tones. The addition of the “MOD” switch on the back – something Jeff Beck requested from the original pedals – allows musicians to extend the bass response, affecting the lower strings for additional low harmonics.

Pedal Adjustments and Control

The Centavo has three main controls on the top – Gain, Treble & Output. The gain on the Centavo breaks up quite a bit towards the end, with the edge of breakup starting after 50% and real clipping achieved later in the gain stage. The treble control is useful for adding some brightness to muddier guitars, such as models with double humbuckers or instruments made 100% from Mahogany. The Centavo is equipped with output and can easily provide a clean boost or create natural distortion if the tubes in the amplifier are already driven. Pressing the MOD switch on the back is a good tool to have at your disposal if the overdrive initially sounds tight on the lows.
