Yes, it’s expensive — and yes, it’s worth every euro. The MEG X870E GODLIKE brought my heavy build to life on the first try and hasn’t blinked since.

My rig: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 64 GB DDR5-6000 CL30, ASUS RTX 5090 LC (vertical), Samsung 9100 Pro 4 TB + 2 TB and 990 Pro 2 TB, be quiet! 1600 W PSU, Phanteks NV9, plus multiple USB/ARGB hubs and a small forest of fans and light strips.

What I appreciated most is how drama-free it was: EXPO on, memory trained cleanly, all NVMe detected, Re-Size BAR enabled, straight into Windows — no loops, no odd errors. VRM temps stay sane under long mixed CPU/GPU loads. The BIOS is quick and logical, and the EZ Bridge/front-panel block with onboard Power/Reset made first power-up and bench checks dead simple. Onboard power/reset buttons on the board help too.

Port/layout wins: stacked rear I/O with plenty of Type-A/C, smart spacing around PCIe for bulky/vertical GPUs, generous internal headers (front USB-C, multiple USB 2.0 for hubs). Cable routing with lots of accessories is actually doable here.

Minor gripe: MSI’s lighting stack doesn’t play perfectly with Corsair iCUE. I let iCUE handle Corsair gear and left the board on a simple hardware lighting profile — that kept things stable.

Lastly, the unboxing feels downright regal — layered foam, labeled accessories, tidy cable packs. If you like to run at the max and want a board that just gets out of the way, this is the ultimate AM5 foundation.
