Proper discharge and adequate charging affect the battery life. The final discharge voltage must not fall below the following values:

• With discharge current up to 0.1 * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.75 V
• With discharge current between (0.11...0.2) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.70 V
• With discharge current between (0.21...0.3) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.67 V
• With discharge current between (0.31...1) * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.60 V
• With discharge current above 1.1 * battery capacity (A): minimum 1.3 V

Proper charging will extend the battery life. The exact setting of the charging voltage is necessary:

• In standby and float charging: 2.25 to 2.3 V/cell at 25 °C
• In cyclic operation: 2.35 to 2.45 V/cell at 25 °C

The recommended initial current is a maximum of 0.3 * battery capacity (A). The charging voltage should be adjusted according to the temperature.
