The technique of painting on water, known as ebru, has been known since the 13th century. Although it is not easy and requires time, it has gained fans all over the world. The art of water offers moments of relaxation and tranquility, allowing the expression of emotions with colors and patterns.
Included:
- A rectangular basin measuring 27.5cm x 20.5cm x 3cm
- Ready liquid base for painting 450ml
- Powder for preparing the liquid base 10g
- 7 sheets of thick paper measuring approximately 22.5cm x 16cm
- 12 tubes of paint in various colors, each containing 6ml
- Pipette
- 2 safe sticks approximately 17.5 cm long
Instructions for execution:
- Shake the colors well before mixing them to blend the pigment. Pour the painting liquid into the basin. Usually, we pour the entire package (450ml); for beginner artists who do not yet have experience in the art of ebru, it is recommended to pour half the package. The amount of liquid depends on the preferences of the painter.
- Open the color you want to use. The color is applied using the pipette included in the set. To add the next color, wait until the first color has completely settled in the water.
- After applying all the desired colors and waiting for them to fully settle in the water, you can start creating patterns with the help of the sticks.
- When the design is ready, carefully place the prepared paper over the image. Leave it in a clean and dry place until it completely dries.
- After finishing the use, for example, use an old newspaper to clean the base from the color residues.
To prepare the liquid for painting, mix the powder (10g) with 2000ml of water heated to 60-80°C (requires adult assistance). Stir vigorously for 2-3 minutes, leave for about an hour. After this period, stir again until the ingredients are completely mixed. Store the liquid in a tightly closed bottle in a dark place. Exposure to sunlight or high temperatures may cause the liquid to lose its properties. The supply should be used within 1 month.
