Description
The WiFi Extender by Linomag emits a signal at two frequencies. It provides higher speeds compared to single and can connect more devices. The 2.4Ghz frequency is the most common and has a long range. The 5Ghz frequency provides faster speeds than 2.4Ghz but is more susceptible to obstacles (e.g. walls) that reduce its range. This difference, as well as its more limited use, helps reduce interference from other networks. The repeater can provide up to 1200Mbps in total to the devices connected to it. In practice, the actual speed that is shared with the devices is closer to 200Mbps. Indicatively, a 4K high-resolution movie requires about 25Mbps. The speed that each connected device will have depends on the distance, obstacles, the number of other devices connected, the number of other networks in the same area, etc. It is Wi-Fi 5 generation, the most widespread Wi-Fi standard, which can meet the needs of most users at present. There is now also the next generation Wi-Fi 6, which offers the ability to connect many more devices to serve the increasingly growing smart devices in a home. The connection via ethernet cable offers a speed of 100Mbps, which is sufficient to meet all needs, e.g. for a 4K high-definition movie, about 25Mbps is required.
