The hot pepper is an exceptional traveler. It made its journey from South America to Europe with Columbus. I got to know the hot pepper better in Mexico. I encountered the hot pepper in Tabasco sauce, in chili con carne, and in enchiladas. In Europe, it was also found: in Hungary in spicy lecso and in Portugal in fish stew with tomatoes, potatoes, and onions - known as caldeirada. Traveling to various corners of the world, I realized that the hot pepper pairs best with tomatoes. Sweet tomatoes and hot peppers are made for each other!
