From the early years when I started composing music, the idea of composing pieces for children occupied me. The image of children singing is perhaps the most magical in the world of music. The first pieces were written in 1989. The poetry of Drosinis, Vizyinos, Papantoniou, and Christovasilis helped me to recall sensitivities from my memory that I had isolated along with the images and scents of my early school years.

The collection of arranged folk songs was created to serve as material for the study of the Kodaly system. The authentic melodies were sought in the collections of folk songs by Samuel Baud - Bovy and Georgios Pachtikos. I chose melodies from the Dodecanese and Asia Minor, regions from which my family "holds."

I do not hide my emotion when I hear children singing my songs. With only the belief that I tried with all my knowledge and strength, I thank all those who contributed.
