The AKU PROTECT BALANCER is ideal for batteries connected in series, ensuring equal voltage between the batteries during charging and discharging. It can be used with gel, AGM, and lead-acid batteries.
When batteries operate in series, the voltage of each battery may differ due to variations in the chemistry and temperature of each cell. This voltage difference can cause imbalance, with one battery being overcharged and another not charged enough. The voltage difference increases with repeated charging and discharging of the batteries, which can lead to premature failure.
The AKU PROTECT BALANCER allows current to flow from the higher voltage battery to the lower voltage one until balance is achieved. The device starts operating when the difference between the batteries is 10 mV and can be permanently connected to a battery system, providing automatic adjustment without manual intervention.
The battery stabilizer can be used with the following types of batteries: lead-acid (VRLA), lithium iron phosphate, nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd), nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH). The device starts functioning when the voltage is above 2.4V, allowing use with a single battery ranging from 2.4V to 12V. Up to 4 batteries can be connected simultaneously, and if fewer than 4 are connected, the extra wire can remain free without affecting the balance.
The operation of the stabilizer is not affected by how the battery is connected, whether in series or parallel, it works in both cases.
