The Gordak 979B soldering station combines hot air, soldering and desoldering, with a digital LCD display and PID temperature control. The soldering iron has a power rating of 70 W and a tip temperature range of 200 to 480 °C, while the hot air temperature can be adjusted from 100 to 500 °C. The hot air unit delivers an even airflow of up to 120 L/min.
When the hot air handle is placed in its holder, cooling mode is activated. Once the temperature drops to 100 °C, the station enters standby mode to save energy. Lifting the handle returns it to operating mode. The soldering iron uses a fast-heating A1321 ceramic heating element.
