It is very good, we can't say otherwise. Personally, what I noticed is that compared to older batches, it is not as strong on the nose - it doesn't release as many aromas, even after 2-3 weeks when the bottle is halfway through. Fortunately, the price has dropped a bit, because it had unjustifiably gone up, but still I find it a bit pricey. For these reasons, we will stick to 4 stars, friends.

I won't go into the process of commenting on what aromas it offers you, what experience you have when you drink it, I consider these self-evident. Those who have tried it know. (Of course, always neat, maybe 3-4 drops of strictly water, please don't let me hear about ice) However, for those who haven't tasted it, it's a shame not to try it at least once. I found it last Christmas for €88. 5+ stars.

After the Talisker 10 that I really liked, I decided to try something smokier and maybe even better. In the end, I was right!!! Quite intense smoky aroma, with a very nice and exquisite smoky flavor that takes you to another level! Salty, smoky, and a tobacco aftertaste that lingers for a while and elevates the whole experience! Peat and iodine flavor, but extremely well-balanced in taste and quite smoky. Fantastic in one word! Goes great with rock music...! If you like smoky flavors, it is recommended... Masterpiece!!! If you get used to smoky ones, the others will simply taste bland and inferior. Quality! The price is quite high, but even so, it's worth it! Compared to Ardbeg, which is also a wonderful malt whiskey, Lagavulin surpasses it in taste, aroma, peatiness, and in its more beautifully smoky taste...!!!!

The taste is subjective, each of us has different preferences.
Unique in aroma, as others have said, it is characterized by tobacco along with a sweet note. Also, if you consider the 16 and more years of aging in oak barrels, then it is worth the effort to buy and try it.
I like to drink it neat, without water or ice.
A slight objection to the price, there is an equivalent but stronger and more economical option (half the price or less), the Johnnie Walker Black Label Islay

Lover of this particular single malt for years. Those who enjoy smoky, heavy whiskey will love it. My only major complaint is its price now. A whisky that definitely is not for everyone! To be honest, my experience with single malt products is not extensive, as I have always preferred blended ones! As for this particular one, I can say that it is worth trying for someone who is looking for something different in whisky and at the same time can afford it! With the first sip, there are so many different flavors bursting out that you can't distinguish any specific one! Then, sip after sip, at least for me, what stood out was the intense note of iodine and wood that it leaves at the end of each sip! Additionally, a subtle hint of smokiness comes through and emphasizes the end of each sip without being particularly strong or heavy! I want to emphasize that I drink this whisky neat, without the addition of water or ice!

A truly wonderful whiskey!!! Quite smoky indeed, but for those who enjoy smoky flavors, I consider it marvelous! You can feel the flavors on 3 (at least) different levels: beginning, middle, and end! With the beginning being intense, the middle being particularly aromatic and long-lasting, and the end leaving you with a sensation of quality tobacco! Simply exceptional! I drink it neat and usually pair it with a little prosciutto and metsovone cheese.

Two conditions. 1. You have to like smoky flavors. 2. You have to enjoy tasting whiskey. It wants you to give a few moments to your palate, to start bringing out the flavors beneath the smoke. Then it smooths out and becomes wonderful. However, I understand those who consider it to have a strong smokiness, it is unique, not a drink for everyone's taste. Therefore, for those who don't really like smoky flavors, it's better not to even consider buying it. As for the price, I'm getting really annoyed with the Scots. I found it in a "good" wine shop in my area for 84 euros. It's unacceptable, especially when I bought the last bottle 7 months ago for 65 euros.

Tremendously good smoky whiskey. The smoke is just right for me. The sweetness from the sherry overpowers the smoke. Of course, there is also the iconic iodine note of the region. When I first opened it, I wasn't impressed, but now - after a few months, reaching the halfway point and oxidizing a bit - I can say that it is exceptional. The only problem is that its price has skyrocketed and it keeps getting more expensive (I bought it for 60, imagine that).

This specific whiskey will only appeal to those who enjoy "smoky" whiskies as the peat is particularly intense in this one, and the alcohol content is strongly present in the taste. It is not a "smooth" whiskey. If you do not like "smoky" whiskies, like myself, it is better not to choose it.

Because I generally like "smoky" since I first tasted it, I never drank any other whiskey again. Always neat and slow. No water or ice. In Scotland, a friend of mine asked for ice and not only did they not bring it to him, but they also took his glass back.

I tried this whiskey for the first time when it cost 28 to 30 euros. That is, many years ago, before it became widely known and its price doubled. It is, in my opinion, only for special occasions and specific tastes, combined with smoked cheese, smoked meat, and smoking a pipe in front of the fireplace in winter. But no, I wouldn't pay that much money for a whiskey anymore, it's too expensive and not worth it unless you have extra for a cold winter Saturday night with good company who shares the same tastes.

If you like smoky flavors, then you must try it. It is one of the smokiest ones you can find and get ready for a strong taste. If you are not generally a fan of smoky flavors, it's better to spend your money on something else or else you will regret it.

If you want it as a gift, you must be sure that the person you are giving it to likes smoky whiskey, otherwise it will be a shame.

Yesterday I drank whiskey for the first time and it is extremely smoky to the point of disgust. For those who truly want to drink whiskey, I would say to avoid it. It's a waste of money because it is very, very unique. I believe that for the money, Macallan is the best choice

I have nothing more to say, everything has been said in the previous comments. It is the epitome of a smoky flavor, its taste lingers on the palate, and the amazing thing is that even after hours, when you smell the glass, you will see that its aromas have not been altered. Although I was not a fan of smoky whiskies, I got hooked on this one, it is always present in my cellar!

I tried it for the first time and felt such a intense and unique character like no other whiskey. I liked its smoky taste, without having prior experience. Intensity, passion, and aroma characterize it. I believe it's worth its money

  • It is very good, we can't say otherwise.

  • The gentlemen in the previous reviews have described it fully. However, for my part, I will simply describe it with two words: Nectar - Elixir
