The construction is sturdy, it looks good, but in use, it is exclusively for sitting on a bleacher or something similar, where the legs are at a lower level than your seat. It is not for sitting on the ground, because if you sit on the ground, it does not support the back. It is essentially a G that braces against your thighs to support the back. So if you sit on the ground with your legs stretched out in front, it will support your back. If you raise your knees to sit with bent legs, then the back will fall backward, and it doesn't work.
In any case, it is not the most perfect support, because internally it is sponge and relies on straps; it does not have a solid frame.
Also, it is quite bulky, so it is not something to carry on trails if you have backpacks and other things.
