Dichondra Repens seed produces a perennial, creeping ground cover, suitable as an alternative to traditional lawns in areas with a mild climate. Its small, round to kidney-shaped, bright green leaves form a dense mat 2–5 cm tall. It spreads through creeping stems that root at the nodes and cover the ground quickly.
It thrives in sunny to partially shaded locations and prefers fertile, light, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. During establishment, it needs frequent, light watering; once established, it is quite drought-tolerant. It does not require frequent mowing, and 2–4 mowings per year are usually sufficient.
