Hand-wash with warm water and a little dish soap, then dry thoroughly and apply a thin layer of vegetable oil. Dishwasher use, harsh detergents, and wire scouring pads are not recommended, as they can remove the protective layer. Without protection from moisture, cast iron may rust.
