After 13 years, my Toshiba gave up. In search of a new camera, the only criterion I had was affordability. If you want to shoot videos, just buy a camcorder. Unfortunately, cameras are not suitable for this job, even in the affordable category. It is much better to get a camcorder than a DSLR. The camera was purchased from a well-known chain store with a 6-month warranty for €126. It was tested outdoors, both during the day and at night. It has a very good stabilization system, several settings, and a very good image quality during the day. Unfortunately, it has quite a bit of noise at night, although less than my old one. The battery easily lasts for 2 hours with minimal zooming, which is sufficient for the work I need it for. However, you can shoot as much as you want if you connect a power bank, so I don't think battery life is an issue. It is also very lightweight and with a tripod, it does the job perfectly. Its plastic parts are as good as they need to be to keep it lightweight. Just because they are fake doesn't mean they are not suitable. It was tested with a 16GB micro SD class 10

Very good camera, small, economical, the construction seems cheap but it is very good. The sound quality is also very good, overall a great choice for the money. I got it for my family for simple use and it is perfect. It has enough options for someone who wants to sacrifice quality to fit more hours, etc. Depending on what you choose, it has resolutions of 720, 1080, and .mp4 and .mts for containers as far as I have experimented.

What I have chosen is "XAVC S HD" which has the highest possible quality. Just this specific option requires Class 10 or better cards. If you get a 64GB card, you won't have any problem since all of them are like that now (I use a Kingston U1 and I have no issues). But if you have a smaller one, you might not be able to record in perfect quality. On the Sony website, it says it supports some Sony SD cards of 128GB, while in the manual it says "up to 64GB".

I don't want to risk buying a bigger one and not having it recognized. Besides, in 64GB, you can fit a little over 2.5 hours of video in the highest quality, and even more depending on how much you lower the quality.

BUT

The camera doesn't record at 30 or 60 fps as generally stated on the internet. That happens in the American version. The European version records at 25 or 50 fps respectively, even though it's the same model. I spent quite some time searching for the setting for 60fps, which in the end didn't exist. I confirmed it with a Sony representative.

For me, it's not an issue, since I don't think I will shoot something that absolutely needs a higher framerate. Even if I upload a video on YouTube, I will downscale it to 30fps. It just feels a little bad when you don't find something that you expected to be there.

The only reason I deduct one star is because they didn't mention it clearly. The camera is a gem otherwise, I just mention it for someone who might want to shoot gameplay from a distance and will lose frames.
