Description

Product Name: To Aska by Castello Banfi

Aska is produced from exceptionally selected vineyards in the Bolgheri region, from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with a small percentage of Cabernet Franc. The two bright spheres on the label symbolize day and night and are dedicated to the Etruscan gods Cuatha and Sernia, protectors of hope, dreams, happiness, and joy.

The vinification of Aska is done with a short maceration in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature for about 12-14 days and then it ages for 10 months in French oak barrels.

Aromas of red berries, blackberries, and plum jam are followed by notes of smoke and licorice. On the palate, it is well-rounded, with velvety tannins and a persistent finish.

Pairs ideally with:

  • Beef steak or fillet
  • Pork, ideally roasted with herbs or BBQ versions
  • Pasta with red sauces, such as ragout or Bolognese
  • Mushroom or truffle risotto
  • Hard, spicy cheeses such as pecorino and parmesan
