The cane can be useful for those who have balance problems, instability, weakness in the legs or trunk, or suffer from injuries or pain. It is suitable for elderly people who wish to maintain their independence.

  • Proper position: The top of the cane should reach the wrist when standing upright, with a slightly bent elbow during use.
  • Walking: The cane and the injured leg should touch the ground simultaneously. Start the step by placing the cane forward and follow with the injured leg.
  • Stairs: To go up, lean on the good leg and then lift the injured one. To go down, place the cane on the step first, followed by the injured leg.
  • Space arrangement: Remove rugs and cables, avoid wet floors and other hazardous conditions.
