  • The top of the walking stick should reach your wrist when standing upright.
  • The elbow should bend slightly when holding the stick.
  • When walking, the stick and the injured leg should touch the ground simultaneously.
  • To go up stairs, lead with the good leg first, then the injured one.
  • To go down, start with the stick, then the injured leg, and finally the good leg.
  • Clear your space of any obstacles that may cause falls.
