Neck-Through Construction & Wood Selection

The guitar’s construction follows the authentic Neck-Through-Body method, in which the central core of the neck consists of 9 alternating layers of mahogany and walnut (Mahogany/Walnut) and extends as one continuous piece from the headstock to the base of the body. Solid mahogany side wings (Mahogany Wings) are attached to this central core. This multilayered structure provides exceptional torsional rigidity, stability against temperature changes, and direct acoustic transmission of vibrations, substantially enhancing the instrument’s natural sustain and low-mid frequencies.

Medium C Neck, Ebony Fingerboard & Custom Aesthetics

The neck features a Medium C-Shape profile, with balanced thickness for comfortable thumb placement and smooth position changes. The fingerboard is made of solid ebony (Solid Ebony) with a 12" radius, a dense material that delivers a fast response and brilliant note articulation. It has 22 Medium-Jumbo frets, precision-dressed using the Plek Pro system for even action without fret buzz. Its Custom aesthetic is highlighted by multi-ply binding around the fingerboard and reverse headstock, traditional mother-of-pearl inlays (Mother-of-Pearl Blocks), and a split-diamond logo.

490R/498T Electronics & Gold-Plated Hardware

Unlike traditional Firebird models equipped with mini-humbuckers, the Custom version features full-size 490R (Neck) and 498T (Bridge) pickups. The 490R, with an Alnico II magnet, delivers a warm, balanced tone with rich mids, while the 498T, with an Alnico V magnet, offers increased output and crisp treble, making it suitable for crunch and high-gain applications. The electronics include 2 volume controls, 2 tone controls with CTS 500k potentiometers, and a three-way Switchcraft switch. The gold-plated hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Stop Bar tailpiece, and Grover Mini Rotomatics tuners, ensuring precise intonation and tuning stability.
