The special design maintains full communication between the lens and Canon EF-mount cameras to ensure automatic exposure metering and autofocus capabilities. These contacts also transfer Exif data between the connected lens and camera, converting the data to the actual focal length being used with the teleconverter.

This 1.4x teleconverter effectively increases your focal length by 40% and has a one-stop light loss. Additionally, the advanced optical design features five elements in four groups, and multi-layer anti-reflective coating has been applied to each of the elements to reduce flare and ghosting, enhancing contrast and color performance.
