The Noctua NM-AMB12 chromax mounting kit shifts the heatsink towards the southern side of compatible AMD Ryzen processors, positioning it above their CCDs. This offset can improve cooling and, on high-performance AM5 processors, reduce core temperatures by 1–3 °C. Results vary depending on factors such as the processor’s thermal distribution, component tolerances and thermal paste application.

This improvement can be used to achieve lower temperatures, higher boost frequencies or reduced fan speeds and noise. The kit is compatible with the Noctua NH-C12P, NH-C12P SE14, NH-C14, NH-C14S, NH-D14, NH-D14 SE2011, NH-D15 (chromax.black), NH-D15 SE-AM4, NH-D15S (chromax.black), NH-D9L, NH-L12, NH-L9x65, NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 and NH-P1 coolers.
