My children and I have two OPEL ASTRA, one is a J and the other a K, and an ALFA ROMEO MITO, all three with diesel engines. All three cars have about 150,000 to 225,000 km and the only oil we use is GM DEXOS 2 and we have no problems with any of the three, nor do they burn oil even though we change it every 10,000 km. I tried CASTROL once and it burned 800ml at the oil change. Since then, I haven't experimented with any other oil.

I have been using it for years on my 1997 Toyota Corolla 1.6 gasoline-powered car, which I have converted to LPG with a Prins system (one of the most expensive ones). I used to use Shell Helix, but I switched to this one because it is much more economical. The engine runs perfectly and stays clean, just like with the previous oil. I change the oil and oil filter every 10,000 km. I add 1 liter somewhere in the middle because it burns it, just like I did with the previous oil.
For the past two years, I have been using the same oil in my used VW Eco Up (petrol - natural gas) from 2013, which doesn't burn a drop. I am truly impressed. Based on my experience, I conclude that oil consumption is obviously related to the engine and not the oil itself. If the engine burns oil, whether it is old or that's how it operates, it will burn any oil you put in. A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Skoda Kodiaq, which he is very satisfied with, by the way. He told me that he has to top up the oil, just like I do with my 1997 Toyota Corolla. I asked him if he mentioned it to the dealership, and he said that it is within the acceptable limits set by the company, which I didn't know, meaning that it is considered normal for a car to burn oil even when it is brand new.
Conclusion: Although I am not an expert, having a very good understanding of oil from the experience of several years that I described to you, and even in two cars from different companies, one old and the other relatively new, I believe that the oil is very good and has nothing to envy from more expensive ones.
Το χρησιμοποιώ χρόνια σε βενζινοκίνητο Toyota Corolla 1.6 του 1997, που το έχω γυρίσει σε υγραέριο με σύστημα Prins (από τα πιο ακριβά). Πρώτα χρησιμοποιούσα το Ηelix της Shell αλλά το γύρισα σε αυτό, γιατί είναι πολύ πιο οικονομικό. Ο κινητήρας λειτουργεί άψογα και διατηρείται πεντακάθαρος, όπως άλλωστε και με το προηγούμενο λάδι. Αλλάζω λάδια και φίλτρο λαδιού κάθε 10.000 χλμ. Κάπου στα μισά προσθέτω 1lt γιατί το καίει, όπως όμως έκανα και με το προηγούμενο λάδι.
Εδώ και δύο χρόνια χρησιμοποιώ το ίδιο λάδι και στο μεταχειρισμένο μου VW Eco Up (βενζίνη - φυσικό αέριο) του 2013, το οποίο δεν καίει ούτε σταγόνα. Έχω πραγματικά εντυπωσιαστεί. Average oil, I put it in a Meriva 1.6 for the first 200,000 kilometers, after the installation of LPG it was clearly insufficient. I tried various ones and now I use Liqui Moly Top Tec 4600. Now I have 400,000 kilometers. The viscosity always remains the same, change at 8,000-10,000. GM oils don't last more than 5,000, they need a top-up. Liqui Moly easily goes over 10,000.

I used it twice on an Opel Astra K (2019) diesel 1.6. The first time I changed it at 10,000 and the second time at 15,000. I believe that if someone uses it and changes it every 10,000, without putting too much pressure on the car (hard accelerations, driving in the city in the summer, etc.), they will be satisfied. I have two Opel cars (Vectra and Corsa) and I have been using this specific oil for years without any problems. I change it every 13,000 to 15,000 km. I always used to buy it from a specific store, but once I bought it from an online store through Skroutz (the price seemed very good). The price difference for a 5-liter container was around 6 euros compared to the store where I usually bought it. As a result, after less than 1000 kilometers, the oil level warning light started to come on, which had never happened in all these years (15). The oil level was normal. I would check the oil level every day and there was no change, but the warning light would randomly turn on and off. It continued for about ten days until I had to drain the oil and buy it again from the store where I usually shop. Miraculously, once I changed the oil, the problem disappeared. So, be very careful where you buy from, as many times it's not the brand's fault but rather the issue of being sold subpar products disguised as cheap ones, which end up costing you much more (oil changes and filters again)
Έχω δύο αυτοκίνητα opel (vectra και corsa )χρησιμοποιό χρόνια το συγκεκριμένο λάδι ,χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα το αλλάζω στο 13.000με 15.000 km. Αγόραζα πάντα από ένα συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί,μόνο μία φορά αγόρασα σε ένα internet κατάστημα μέσω skroutz (μου φάνηκε πολύ καλή η τιμή του) ήτανε γύρω στα 6 ευρώ η διαφορά του 5λίτρου από το κατάστημα που αγόραζα. Ως αποτέλεσμα μετά από ούτε 1000 χιλιόμετρα άρχισε να μου ανάβει το λαμπάκι της πλήρωσης λαδιού που δεν το έχει κάνει πότε στα τόσα χρόνια (15) είναι ο η στάθμη του λαδιού ήταν κανονικά . Εγώ παρατηρούσα την στάθμη του λαδιού κάθε μέρα χωρίς να έχει καμία αλλαγή το λαμπάκι μία ανεβαίνει μία έσβηνε , μου το έκανε καμιά δεκαριά μέρες ώσπου αναγκάστηκα να αδειάσω το λάδι και να αγοράσω πάλι από το κατάστημα που ψώνιζα και εκ του "θαύματος "μόλις άλλαξα τα λάδια το πρόβλημα εξαφανίστηκε. Για αυτό μεγάλη προσοχή από πού ψωνίζουμε πολλές φορές δεν φταίει η μάρκα αλλά το πρόβλημα είναι πως σας πουλάνε μαϊμού προϊόντα ως αποτέλεσμα το φθηνό να το πληρώνεις πολύ παραπάνω (ξανά αλλαγή λάδια και φίλτρο)
No matter how many times anyone uses any oil, they will not see a difference, neither in wear nor in engine performance, because the differences between oils with the same specifications, from the (theoretically) best to the (theoretically) worst, are minimal. Only in the laboratory can someone see differences, and even then, under certain conditions. This is because wear and good engine function depend on countless factors (temperatures, how much we press the motor, whether it mainly works in the city or on open roads, etc.). The rule is to always use branded oils, based on the specifications of our manufacturer. As for GM, I use it because it is branded and very cheap, under the following condition: Instead of changing with an expensive oil (Castrol, Liqui Moly, Mobil1, etc.) at 15,000 km as specified by the manufacturer of my car, I prefer to do it at 7,500 km. I don't know how worse GM is compared to Liqui Moly, for example. What I know for sure is that GM is in much better condition when it comes out of the engine at 7,500 km, compared to Liqui Moly at 15,000 km. So instead of paying 80-90€/15,000 km for Liqui Moly (with filter and labor), I prefer to pay 50€/7,500 km for GM (with filter and labor). At 15,000 km, it comes out to about the same amount of money, and I always have fresh oil in my engine.
Όσες φορές και αν χρησιμοποιήσει κανείς οποιοδήποτε το λάδι, δεν θα δει διαφορά, ούτε στην φθορά, ούτε στην απόδοση του κινητήρα, διότι οι διαφορές μεταξύ ίδιων προδιαγραφών επώνυμων λαδιών, από το (θεωρητικά) καλύτερο, μέχρι το (θεωρητικά) χειρότερο, είναι απειροελάχιστες. Μόνο στο εργαστήριο μπορεί κάποιος να δει διαφορές και αυτό υπό προϋποθέσεις. Κι αυτό γιατί η φθορά και η καλή λειτουργία του κινητήρα εξαρτάται από άπειρους παράγοντες (θερμοκρασίες, πόσο πιέζουμε το μοτέρ, αν δουλευει κυρίως στην πόλη ή σε ανοιχτό δρομο, κλπ). Ο κανόνας είναι να χρησιμοποιούμε πάντα επώνυμα λάδια, βάσει των προδιαγραφών του κατασκευαστή μας. Σε ότι αφορά το GM, το χρησιμοποιώ επειδή είναι επώνυμο και πολύ φθηνό, υπό την εξής προυπόθεση: Αντί να κάνω αλλαγές με ένα ακριβό λάδι (Castrol, Liqui Moly, Mobil1, κλπ) στα 15.000χλμ που ορίζει ο κατασκευαστής του αυτοκινήτου μου, προτιμώ να τις κάνω στα 7.500χλμ. Δεν ξέρω πόσο χειρότερο είναι το GM σε σχέση π.χ. με το Liqui Moly. Αυτό που ξέρω σίγουρα είναι πως το GM είναι σε πολύ καλύτερη κατάσταση όταν βγαίνει απ' τον κινητήρα στα 7.500χλμ, απ' ότι το Liqui Moly στα 15.000χλμ. Αντί λοιπόν να πληρώνω 80-90€/15.000χλμ για Liqui Moly (με φίλτρο & εργασία), προτιμώ να πληρώνω 50€/7.500χλμ για GM (με φίλτρο & εργασία). Στα 15.000 μου έρχεται περίπου στα ίδια χρήματα και έχω πάντα φρέσκο λάδι στον κινητήρα μου.

I put it in my insignia 1.6T and I am not satisfied at all. I thought it was good because it is genuine, but Opel seems to use whatever is cheaper compared to other dealerships. I saw it in a test video and the lubrication was a joke. I replaced it directly with liquid moly top tec 4600 because the specifications state that it is suitable for engines with gas and since I have gas in my car, I preferred it for that reason.

It is suitable for GM's Family 0 engines (Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Agila, etc., with the well-known ecotec, etc.), but I do not know about the more modern engines that Opel now has from the PSA Group (Peugeot) and what applies to lubricants. It also meets other specifications, mainly for VW models. In Corsa D (Z12XEP) & Astra H (Z14XEP) that I have personal experience with, it does its job, you won't need to top it up, and if you do need to, it will be a small amount, it generally doesn't burn.

I have been using it for years on my 1997 Toyota Corolla 1.6 gasoline-powered car, which I have converted to LPG with a Prins system (one of the most expensive ones). I used to use Shell Helix, but I switched to this one because it is much more economical. The engine runs perfectly and stays clean, just like with the previous oil. I change the oil and oil filter every 10,000 km. I add 1 liter somewhere in the middle because it burns it, just like I did with the previous oil.
For the past two years, I have been using the same oil in my used VW Eco Up (petrol - natural gas) from 2013, which doesn't burn a drop. I am truly impressed. Based on my experience, I conclude that oil consumption is obviously related to the engine and not the oil itself. If the engine burns oil, whether it is old or that's how it operates, it will burn any oil you put in. A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Skoda Kodiaq, which he is very satisfied with, by the way. He told me that he has to top up the oil, just like I do with my 1997 Toyota Corolla. I asked him if he mentioned it to the dealership, and he said that it is within the acceptable limits set by the company, which I didn't know, meaning that it is considered normal for a car to burn oil even when it is brand new.

Πρώτα χρησιμοποιούσα το Ηelix της Shell αλλά το γύρισα σε αυτό, γιατί είναι πολύ πιο οικονομικό. Ο κινητήρας λειτουργεί άψογα και διατηρείται πεντακάθαρος, όπως άλλωστε και με το προηγούμενο λάδι. Αλλάζω λάδια και φίλτρο λαδιού κάθε 10.000 χλμ. Κάπου στα μισά προσθέτω 1lt γιατί το καίει, όπως όμως έκανα και με το προηγούμενο λάδι.

I have two Opel cars (Vectra and Corsa) and I have been using this specific oil for years without any problems. I change it every 13,000 to 15,000 km. I always used to buy it from a specific store, but once I bought it from an online store through Skroutz (the price seemed very good). The price difference for a 5-liter container was around 6 euros compared to the store where I usually bought it. Ως αποτέλεσμα μετά από ούτε 1000 χιλιόμετρα άρχισε να μου ανάβει το λαμπάκι της πλήρωσης λαδιού που δεν το έχει κάνει πότε στα τόσα χρόνια (15) είναι ο η στάθμη του λαδιού ήταν κανονικά . Εγώ παρατηρούσα την στάθμη του λαδιού κάθε μέρα χωρίς να έχει καμία αλλαγή το λαμπάκι μία ανεβαίνει μία έσβηνε , μου το έκανε καμιά δεκαριά μέρες ώσπου αναγκάστηκα να αδειάσω το λάδι και να αγοράσω πάλι από το κατάστημα που ψώνιζα και εκ του "θαύματος "μόλις άλλαξα τα λάδια το πρόβλημα εξαφανίστηκε. Για αυτό μεγάλη προσοχή από πού ψωνίζουμε πολλές φορές δεν φταίει η μάρκα αλλά το πρόβλημα είναι πως σας πουλάνε μαϊμού προϊόντα ως αποτέλεσμα το φθηνό να το πληρώνεις πολύ παραπάνω (ξανά αλλαγή λάδια και φίλτρο)
No matter how many times anyone uses any oil, they will not see a difference, neither in wear nor in engine performance, because the differences between oils with the same specifications, from the (theoretically) best to the (theoretically) worst, are minimal. Only in the laboratory can someone see differences, and even then, under certain conditions. This is because wear and good engine function depend on countless factors (temperatures, how much we press the motor, whether it mainly works in the city or on open roads, etc.). The rule is to always use branded oils, based on the specifications of our manufacturer. As for GM, I use it because it is branded and very cheap, under the following condition: Instead of changing with an expensive oil (Castrol, Liqui Moly, Mobil1, etc.) at 15,000 km as specified by the manufacturer of my car, I prefer to do it at 7,500 km. I don't know how worse GM is compared to Liqui Moly, for example. What I know for sure is that GM is in much better condition when it comes out of the engine at 7,500 km, compared to Liqui Moly at 15,000 km. So instead of paying 80-90€/15,000 km for Liqui Moly (with filter and labor), I prefer to pay 50€/7,500 km for GM (with filter and labor). At 15,000 km, it comes out to about the same amount of money, and I always have fresh oil in my engine.
Όσες φορές και αν χρησιμοποιήσει κανείς οποιοδήποτε το λάδι, δεν θα δει διαφορά, ούτε στην φθορά, ούτε στην απόδοση του κινητήρα, διότι οι διαφορές μεταξύ ίδιων προδιαγραφών επώνυμων λαδιών, από το (θεωρητικά) καλύτερο, μέχρι το (θεωρητικά) χειρότερο, είναι απειροελάχιστες. Μόνο στο εργαστήριο μπορεί κάποιος να δει διαφορές και αυτό υπό προϋποθέσεις. Κι αυτό γιατί η φθορά και η καλή λειτουργία του κινητήρα εξαρτάται από άπειρους παράγοντες (θερμοκρασίες, πόσο πιέζουμε το μοτέρ, αν δουλευει κυρίως στην πόλη ή σε ανοιχτό δρομο, κλπ). Ο κανόνας είναι να χρησιμοποιούμε πάντα επώνυμα λάδια, βάσει των προδιαγραφών του κατασκευαστή μας. Σε ότι αφορά το GM, το χρησιμοποιώ επειδή είναι επώνυμο και πολύ φθηνό, υπό την εξής προυπόθεση: Αντί να κάνω αλλαγές με ένα ακριβό λάδι (Castrol, Liqui Moly, Mobil1, κλπ) στα 15.000χλμ που ορίζει ο κατασκευαστής του αυτοκινήτου μου, προτιμώ να τις κάνω στα 7.500χλμ. Δεν ξέρω πόσο χειρότερο είναι το GM σε σχέση π.χ. με το Liqui Moly. Αυτό που ξέρω σίγουρα είναι πως το GM είναι σε πολύ καλύτερη κατάσταση όταν βγαίνει απ' τον κινητήρα στα 7.500χλμ, απ' ότι το Liqui Moly στα 15.000χλμ. Αντί λοιπόν να πληρώνω 80-90€/15.000χλμ για Liqui Moly (με φίλτρο & εργασία), προτιμώ να πληρώνω 50€/7.500χλμ για GM (με φίλτρο & εργασία). Στα 15.000 μου έρχεται περίπου στα ίδια χρήματα και έχω πάντα φρέσκο λάδι στον κινητήρα μου.

I put it in my insignia 1.6T and I am not satisfied at all. I thought it was good because it is genuine, but Opel seems to use whatever is cheaper compared to other dealerships. I saw it in a test video and the lubrication was a joke. I replaced it directly with liquid moly top tec 4600 because the specifications state that it is suitable for engines with gas and since I have gas in my car, I preferred it for that reason.
Το έβαζα σε insignia 1.6T και δεν είμαι καθόλου ευχαριστημένος. Νόμιζα ότι είναι καλό επειδή είναι το γνήσιο αλλά μάλλον η opel σε σχέση με τις άλλες αντιπροσωπείες βάζει ότι φθηνότερο βρει. Το είδα σε τεστ σε βίντεο και η λίπανση ήταν για γέλια. Το αντικατέστησα κατευθείαν με liquid moly top tec 4600 γιατί στις προδιαγραφες γράφει οτι κανεί και για κινητήρες με αέριο και επειδή έχω αέριο στο αυτοκίνητο γι'αυτό το προτίμησα.
It is installed in a forged Z16let for 2 changes now and I consider it the best value for money. Features, at 5100km it has burned a maximum of 100ml of oil in an engine that has been driven hard. They were replaced with equally good Liqui Moly.
Τοποθετείται σε Ζ16let σφυρήλατο εδώ και 2 αλλαγές και το θεωρώ το καλύτερο vfm. Χαρακτηριστικά, στα 5100χλμ έχει κάψει μάξ 100ml λάδι σε κινητήρα που έχει φάει ξύλο. Αντικαταστάθηκαν με τα εξίσου καλά liqui moly.

The main reason to choose it is its price, as it is very cheap compared to well-known options in the market, and it is a tested solution for Opel. It is suitable for GM's Family 0 engines (Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Agila, etc., with the well-known ecotec, etc.), but I do not know about the more modern engines that Opel now has from the PSA Group (Peugeot) and what applies to lubricants. It also meets other specifications, mainly for VW models. In Corsa D (Z12XEP) & Astra H (Z14XEP) that I have personal experience with, it does its job, you won't need to top it up, and if you do need to, it will be a small amount, it generally doesn't burn.
Friendly advice, change the oil at around 10,000 km, and change it every year, even if you drive fewer kilometers.
For more expensive alternatives, from my perspective, look towards Liqui Moly Molygen or Top-Tec 4600 (recommended) or Eneos Premium Hyper, always speaking in terms of 5W-30.

Ταιριάζει σε Family 0 κινητήρες της GM (Corsa, Astra, Meriva, Agila κ.α, με τους γνωστούς ecotec κτλ), αλλά δεν γνωρίζω με τους πιο σύγχρονους κινητήρες που φέρουν πλέον τα Opel από το PSA Group (Peugeot) τι ισχύει σε λιπαντικά. I am not an expert in car oils. I don't see anything changed from the previous condition of the engine, but it is probably a little quieter and maybe a little smoother... in my Opel Zafira that I use them. The price is definitely good.

All diesel engines blacken their oil. If you use it in a petrol engine, it doesn't blacken. The oil is just fine. I also used Liqui Moly and that one blackened too. That's all.

My children and I have two OPEL ASTRA, one is a J and the other a K, and an ALFA ROMEO MITO, all three with diesel engines. All three cars have about 150,000 to 225,000 km and the only oil we use is GM DEXOS 2 and we have no problems with any of the three, nor do they burn oil even though we change it every 10,000 km. I tried CASTROL once and it burned 800ml at the oil change. Since then, I haven't experimented with any other oil.

Saab 9.3 200 horsepower with 180,000 kilometers and I never had to top up or saw it turn black. It's perfectly economical and good oil. I just always change it at about 10,000 kilometers and I also run on gas!

This specific lubricant, because there are many discussions and writings about it in Europe, is recommended for 15,000 kilometers. In Greece, the change is at half (7,500).
