Its seeds are ground and added to pastirma, offering a distinctive aroma combined with garlic. When cooked, it becomes milder, and when dried, it acquires a slightly spicy flavor. In the kitchen, it is added in powder form to various meats, such as chicken, to vegetables, and to meatballs.
