The Nous E9 gas detector detects flammable gases such as gasoline, methane, and propane by continuously monitoring the air. When the gas concentration reaches a dangerous level, it triggers audible and visual alerts and sends a notification to the Nous Smart Home app. It connects via Zigbee 3.0 and requires a compatible Zigbee hub to operate.

The device has a fire-resistant plastic housing and is wall-mounted. It supports voice control via Alexa and Google Assistant, as well as integration with Home Assistant through Zigbee2MQTT. The app provides remote monitoring of the alarm status and an event history, depending on the Zigbee gateway.
