The systematic presentation of the institutions of family law and the provision of solutions to difficult-to-interpret issues remain the main goal of the current edition of the reference book on Family Law, the update of which became necessary mainly due to the enactment of two important legislations that substantially changed the nature of Family Law.

Specifically, the first in time was the reform of the law on medically assisted reproduction (MAR: Law 4958/2022). This law brought extensive amendments both to the specific legislation on MAR (Law 3305/2005) and to the corresponding articles of the Civil Code. Subsequently, with Law 5089/2024, same-sex marriage was established, as is well known. As can be understood, this legislative milestone affects almost the entirety of family law, as the provisions governing the relations between spouses (those related to separation, divorce, claim for participation in acquisitions, maintenance claims, etc.) henceforth also apply to same-sex couples. At the same time, however, since the legislator's intervention was limited to the chapter on marriage, Law 5089/2024 created a multitude of interpretative issues regarding children to be born within a marriage of same-sex persons.

With emphasis on the analyses of all the above issues, the reader of the work gains a vivid picture of Family Law in its modern, current dimension, presented with clarity and completeness.
