I'm writing this review a bit early, so it's not final.

As for appearance, since it's black, it's nothing special; I have it inside a rack so it's not visible. Inside the box, there's the power supply which is Type C with the cable being about 1m long. The good thing is that now you'll have a Type C cable somewhere. The network (ethernet) cable is thick, round, black, plastic, and has bends from being packed in the box; calling it cheap is an understatement.

If you already have the old Gen 2 bridge, you can transfer to the new one automatically through the app and it’s easy, transferring almost everything, but only one bridge. If you have two because you might have a lot of lights, you transfer one and the second manually.

The other thing is that even though Philips has better hardware, they continue to use FE (Fast Ethernet) 10/100 communication speeds... I don't get it... everyone is moving to GbE 10/100/1000 now... what do they save, 0.10€?

--Update 1: Something I noticed is that when the old bridge was transferred, in Amazon Alexa and Google Home, although it transferred the lights correctly and 1-to-1, duplicate rooms were created wherever there were LED strips. So when you say "Alexa/Hey Google, turn on/off the living room lights" it asks if you mean the Living Room or the Living Room "Hue lightstrip plus 1" (or whatever the LED strip is named). So you have to go to each room one by one and delete them... Must be some bug...

Doesn’t worth upgrading from the standard one if you have less than 50 lights.

Pros:

- Lights transfer worked flawlessly from the old Bridge, though slow.

Cons:

- Motion sensing is gimmicky, it takes too much time till the lights turn on after sensing a motion and it requires at least 3 lights, specifically placed, per room.

- Bridge Pro offers a wireless connection to the router but the latency is higher. Philips Hue Sync Box suffers from this, the most.

- It’s still buggier than the original one. Half of the times it won’t turn off the lights when I leave home, the original bridge did it 100% of the times.

- Security features are blocked behind a paywall. Another subscription.

In summary, it's double the price for supporting 100 more lights and being more buggy.
