Kalamata olives, also known as Kalamon, are characteristic of southern Greece and are found exclusively on the Peloponnese peninsula. They are considered a premium product, large in size with an intense flavor. Their color is dark.
The olives come from a small producer in the Peloponnese, the Stamatakou family. They are handmade, processed with a special vacuum machine and stored in specially designed glass jars, in a small amount of extra virgin olive oil produced by the same producer. The traditional method of preserving Kalamata olives until their consumption has been passed down from generation to generation in the small Stamatakou family, maintaining all their characteristics and making them enjoyable at every meal.
