These eight creatures (some terrifying, others seemingly harmless) hide under Alma’s bed and come out at night to steal her light, dreams, and hopes. Alma does not dare to talk about them with her family or friends, fearing no one will believe they are real.

But what Alma does not know is that there are monsters that can only be defeated with the help of others. Iria G. Parente and Selene M. Pascual address depression in this moving allegory aimed both at children and adults alike.
