The ZWO ASI585MC camera is used for astrophotography of the Moon, planets and Sun, as well as deep-sky imaging and live viewing. The Sony IMX585 sensor has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a pixel size of 2.9 μm, while STARVIS 2 technology enhances sensitivity in low-light conditions. It produces no amp glow and has low read noise.
The adjustable Peltier cooling system lowers the sensor temperature by up to 35 °C below ambient temperature, helping to produce low-noise images. The clear glass filter protects the sensor from dust and allows ultraviolet and infrared radiation to pass through. A suitable filter is required for solar imaging.
