The Sire Larry Carlton Q7 Metallic Green is a six-string, headless solid-body electric guitar, designed in close collaboration with legendary guitarist Larry Carlton. Its body is made of solid mahogany, with comfort contours and a glossy Metallic Green finish. It features a bolt-on neck crafted from a single piece of roasted hard maple, with an ergonomic “C” profile and a fretboard with rounded Edgeless edges. The fretboard features 24 medium-jumbo stainless steel frets and a zero fret. The electronics comprise two Sire LC Super-Q humbuckers and a five-way blade selector for a wide range of tonal versatility. The hardware is rounded out by the precision Sire Headless Bridge System with integrated fine-tuning tuners.
Basic Features
Mahogany Body Construction & Headless Ergonomics
The instrument’s solid body is made from selected mahogany (Solid Mahogany), a tonewood that delivers rich acoustic resonance, focused low-mid frequencies, and extended natural sustain. The headless (Headless) design significantly reduces the instrument’s overall length and weight, shifting the center of gravity toward the body and completely eliminating neck dive. The body features ergonomic contours on the back (belly cut), the forearm contour on the front, and the neck joint, allowing for comfortable playing while standing with a strap or sitting in a classical or modern position. The glossy Metallic Green finish provides durable protection against moisture and mechanical wear.
Roasted Maple Neck & Edgeless Stainless Steel Fingerboard
The neck and fingerboard are crafted from thermally treated hard maple (Roasted Hard Maple) in a controlled vacuum environment. This process stabilizes the wood fibers by removing residual moisture, providing high structural rigidity against sudden temperature and humidity changes. The fingerboard has a 9.5" (241 mm) radius, a 25.5" (648 mm) scale length, and is equipped with 24 Medium Jumbo stainless steel frets, which ensure virtually no wear over time and smooth string movement.
Sire LC Super-Q Electronics & Headless Support System
The electronic system features a pair of Sire LC Super-Q Humbuckers, specially designed to deliver balanced output, clear highs, and a tight low-end response without unwanted noise. The 5-way blade selector allows both full humbucker operation and split-coil/parallel combinations, expanding the tonal range from rich lead tones to clear single-coil textures. The mounting system is built around the exclusive Sire Headless Bridge System, with each saddle operating independently and incorporating a high-precision tuning mechanism to ensure direct transfer of mechanical energy and exceptional tuning stability.
