The epilogue of Saint Nikodimos of Mount Athos is represented by this work titled «NEW CLIMAX». Like the «Eortodromeion», it was written under adverse conditions for the saint, both in terms of health and due to the scandals of that era.

«New Climax» primarily addresses interpretative, dogmatic, theological, spiritual, and moral issues. One would not be mistaken to describe it as a concise dogmatic exposition of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Saint Nikodimos undertook the eighty-five degrees of the Octoechos, annotated them, adding his own comments to the splendid footnotes, and delivered to the Church a rare and unparalleled work, which was missing «for the common benefit of the Orthodox».
