The vise is made of special ductile cast iron that does not break (SG grade 500/7 steel). The nodular graphite comes from gray cast iron as a base, with the addition of manganese and magnesium alloying elements. The SG 500/7 grade corresponds to a tensile strength of 500 N/mm² and 7% elongation.
The nodular graphite vise is twice the quality compared to regular cast iron ones, as it is harder, more durable, deforms less easily (elongates more before breaking), holds much more firmly (better compressive strength), and lasts twice as long.
