  • Another very successful proposal from Osprey for the reasons I analyze below!

I got it specifically for travel. For a long time I was looking for a backpack with an internal frame that had Osprey’s excellent Airspeed system, but could also pass as a personal item on flights without any hassle at check-in.

Compared with all the other options I looked at (Salewa, Deuter, Mammut, Alpinus, Ferrino, etc.), this one is the most compact, but at the same time it has enough space for a jacket, extra clothes, electronics, a drone, a battery pack, and more.

You lift 5 kilos and it feels like 2, thanks to the feel that Airspeed provides. It fits under the seat on the plane, sticking out about 5 centimeters, but if you turn it on its side it doesn’t show at all. At the gate, if you don’t overpack it, it looks like a normal backpack. I never had any problem taking it on board with me, even after inspection.

It has a pocket on the bottom for a rain cover, which I now use as a pouch for important items that I always want with me but don’t use often. The top pocket opens with one hand, thanks to the sturdiness of the frame, ideal for things like a passport that you want to reach immediately.

I’ve also tested it in heavy rain for a few minutes, and no water got inside at all. I bought it for travel, but I ended up using it every day, both for work and for walks or trips.

It is definitely not as small as the Sportlite, but it gives you conveniences that no other backpack offers in this size.
