Description

Description

The off-axis guider offers a simple method for automatic telescope guiding for astrophotography. With a guiding camera, stars that deviate from the telescope's optical path are tracked near the imaging sensor of the guide camera.

One advantage of this method is that guide stars are located within the sky area close to the astro-camera, reducing errors caused by differential flexure and poor collimation of the guide scope.

The large off-axis guider features larger prisms. The wider clear aperture compared to other models provides a greater field of view during guiding. Designed for users interested in photography with longer focal lengths, it is recommended to use it with a full-frame camera.

The OAG-L has a tiltable M48 plate, facilitating precise alignment of the focal plane with the sensor.

Optical path: with tiltable plate (5 mm), optional EFW (20 mm), and optional cooled camera (12.5 mm): 55 millimeters.

  • Off-axis guider
  • M48 tiltable plate (pre-installed)

For guiding, the OAG-L can only be used with ASI Mini cameras, such as the ASI174MM Mini, ASI290MM Mini, and ASI120MM Mini. If used without a filter wheel, a ZWO D70-M54F adapter is required to connect the guide to the camera. If the telescope has M48 threading, it can be connected with an M48 tiltable plate adapter.
