The top and bottom parts are OK. Not particularly solid, but OK.

The rest is a disappointment. The locks and arms/levers (that fold to open and close) are cheap and flimsy plastic (NOT metal as shown on image). The holes you are meant to open are actually quite hard and it is easy to break the plastic in between (as opposed to plastic pots for plants that have at the bottom very thin plastic, easily pierced to create the hole, in this case the plastic covering the holes is very thick. You really need to use a screwdriver and a hammer). The seal when the box closes (even with both clasps secured) is not great. It may be waterproof, but I am concerned about driving at high speed.

Overall very disappointed. While the price is better, if you plan to use this a lot for travels, I know think it is worth paying the extra money to get a more reputable brand.

  • I placed it on top of the roof rack I already have on my car, so that if I need to put extra things, I can tie them to the rack. I believe that on top of a rack is better, because the roof box rests on a larger surface instead of just on 2 bars. I made larger mounting bases with the same threads so that the same nuts fit and everything is perfect! NO noise up to at least 120-130 km/h, which is as fast as I went. After the trip, I will store it in the shade so it doesn't get damaged by weather conditions

Given that the i10 has a very small trunk, we got this particular 400L roof box to put the stroller and the baby's accessories. It fits a lot of things, is sturdy enough, and does not make any noise nor has fuel consumption increased, we are talking about a steady speed of 100km/h. The small columns seem to break easily and the front latch looks a bit flimsy, although after a couple of good bumps it did not open. It is worth its money.

Very good for its price.. I have had it for 6 months so far and everything is fine. On the road you can't even hear it. Just be a bit careful with the shock absorbers when opening it.. otherwise everything is good. And it's super easy to install. As for the lock that some people mention, I didn't face any problem. Only when you lift it a bit, you need to align it left and right for it to stay open.. by the 3rd or 4th time you get used to it. I got the 400-liter one and it fits 3 travel suitcases and 4-5 bags with a few things comfortably..

I bought it for the baby's stroller, and it doesn't fit it very well. It may have a 400-liter capacity, but in length, it doesn't have much height. Also, after 4 months, the hinge rivet broke, which fortunately I replaced with another one. As for the lock they mention, it's fine, just to close it properly you need to have it open while closing the lid. Regarding aerodynamics, it's completely silent. In terms of waterproofing, it's perfect and I didn't expect that.

Update after 1 year... Awful quality hinges. The rivets broke again!!!!! For those who want to buy it, just in case, also get a rivet gun.

It is a very good solution and quite economical.
I installed it by myself, but it is much easier if you have a second person to help with lifting.
You need to drill holes in the points where you will pass the supports for the bars. It already has pre-marked points for drilling, so you just choose the ones that fit your case. I used a drill for better results. Be careful with the car roof during drilling!
By pressing on the car's roof rail, all the supports easily fit in. I tried it initially with a ladder, but it requires someone to hold the ladder well, otherwise it will either touch the car or slip back...
I used it during a 1000 km trip over Easter. With quite a bit of rain, whether in motion or stopped, not a single drop got inside.
There is a difference in noise. It sounds like traveling with strong wind (continuous soft blowing at a speed of 120 km/hr). Personally, it didn't bother me much, but the rest of the family complained a bit. In general, the noise becomes noticeable after 100-110 km/hr. It can be heard earlier, but you need to focus your attention there. I didn't travel at speeds over 130 km/hr.
On the other hand, I enjoyed loading the car. Finally, I didn't have to play Tetris with the luggage. It comfortably fit all our things and my wife made good use of the extra space...
Long dresses, etc., were nicely spread out in a bag on top of the luggage...
As for locking, in my case and others, I felt safer when I pressed the lid with one hand and closed the latch with the other. Additionally, the key entered the lock much more easily when I sprayed a little lubricant. At first, it seemed to struggle a bit. However, I had read comments from other owners and was adequately prepared.
I didn't notice any significant difference in fuel consumption. About 0.3 liters/100 km more than usual. Travel speed on the highway was 120 km/hr.
On the rest of the provincial road network, there is no extra noise or consumption.
When I removed it after the trip, I got tired of cleaning the millions of insects that had been killed on it and on the bars. Especially at the points where it touches the bars, a whole swarm had stuck...
Be careful with handling it during installation and storage. It easily gets marks and scratches.
Overall, a very good choice, very useful for families, etc., at a very low cost.
I have no experience with other roof racks.
It is worth noting that the noise from the bars without the roof rack is unbearable. Even in the city, at speeds of 60+, the noise is particularly noticeable (loud humming, Hermes GS2 bars).

I just received it. It seems to be made of harder plastic than the one I already have. The top part is carbon, probably a sticker, but regardless, it protects from the sun. It seems to have a fairly large space. I assembled it very quickly and easily. It locks with a key in the middle and has an additional security feature in the front to keep it closed. Now, time will tell. For its price, it is the best.
