The SmallRig “HawkLock” Quick Release Cage is designed for Sony Alpha 7 V / 7R V / 7 IV and offers stable camera protection with a three-point locking system, multiple mounting points, and a HawkLock NATO rail for quick accessory attachment. The integrated Arca-Swiss base, QD socket, and slide-in auto-locking quick release workflow allow immediate switching between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups.

The cage incorporates multiple mounting points such as 1/4″-20 threads and ARRI-style 3/8″-16 locating holes. It features protective inserts to prevent scratches, while precise cutouts ensure full access to ports, selectors, buttons, and the battery compartment.

The integrated cold shoe slot enables the attachment of devices like wireless microphones or compact lights, while the QD socket at the base supports a shoulder strap for greater carrying comfort. The lower quick release plate, combined with a compatible HawkLock H38 Arca-Swiss quick release mount plate, allows quick attachment with an auto-locking mechanism.

The base includes a magnetic Allen key for easy assembly and disassembly. The modular cover on the battery compartment offers better ergonomics by providing support for the pinky finger during handheld use.

Note: After tightening the lower 1/4″-20 screw, remove the anti-twist locating pins from their storage position in the battery compartment and place them in the designated position.
