The survival Swagman Scarf is an essential addition to any Bug-Out Bag (BOB) or backpack. It is also used by rescue services. It is a large rectangular piece of lightweight nylon fabric which, when folded, can be worn around the neck, providing additional insulation to the chest area.

When unfolded, the Swagman Scarf can be used as a poncho with a hood or as a lightweight jacket. If a camp needs to be set up, it can function as an improvised tarp or as a lightweight sleeping bag. It also has the capability to be used as a gear carrying sack. In case of emergency, it can replace an NRC-type thermal blanket.
