The Winery of ASTIR X is located on the outskirts of the city of Kalamata, the capital of Messinia in the Peloponnese. The Peloponnese is considered the cradle of Greek wine, as it has been a land full of vineyards since ancient times. Today, it is the largest viticultural area in Greece.
The Winery takes the precious fruit from selected vineyards in the region. Its specialized viticulture team is the most crucial part of Astir X. They monitor and care for the cultivation of a total of 800 stremmas of vineyards from which the raw material for its wines is sourced.
The selection of the vineyards was made with the aim of achieving the optimal performance of each variety in the microclimate of the area. The winery features:
The wines suitable for aging are stored in the Winery’s cellar, in 220 lt French oak barrels, and mature in the cellar before traveling to wine lovers.
