Crete, with its pride, music, and poetry, is a place that not only writes its history but lives it through its lyrics. Every word, every rhyme, every mantinada is a piece of our soul, a song of tradition that never fades.
In this book, I tried to give life to the words, to give voice to Crete, through the mantinades that overflow with love, pain, joy, and dreams. Each verse here is not just words on paper – it is the heart of an island that knows how to fight, to sing, and to live.
With this work, I want us to travel together to our roots, find the strength to continue the tradition, and show the world the beauty and uniqueness of Crete. I hope that this book will become a bridge between the past and the future, a way to keep the voice of the mantinada alive forever.
