Description

Description

Decades of the 1950s and 1960s. The golden decades during which Kypseli was steadily rising to the top of the Athens pyramid. But what was Kypseli like back then?

This book provides an answer, using a format similar to a country knowledge lesson: featuring mountains and plains, rivers and lakes, and so on, it records the unique characteristics of Kypseli: streets and squares, schools and clinics, and more.

To accomplish this, first Andreas VavaYiannis crafted an original canvas based on his memories for a journey through Kypseli, along the pathways of which Leonidas Slavis later wandered. Their texts are complemented by excerpts from written and visual references to Kypseli, highlighting its history from its residents’ stories to its raw imprint in the imagination of others.
