Welding Cleaning Spray is used as part of the VMD137-138-139 set to detect and precisely locate defects in weld seams or cast metal components without damaging the surface. The set is used to detect holes, cracks, porosity, and other material imperfections.

To carry out the process, first clean and degrease the entire surface with VMD 137. Then apply a thin layer of VMD 138 and leave it to work for 15–20 minutes. Remove the excess with VMD 137 and, once the surface is dry, spray on VMD 139 as a developer. After a few minutes, defects become visible as red indications.
