The Guild F-250CE Deluxe Antique Burst is a Jumbo-shaped electro-acoustic guitar with a cutaway, designed for rich acoustic volume and extended tonal projection. It belongs to Guild’s Westerly Collection and combines a solid Sitka spruce top with an impressive arched back and flamed maple sides. Its internal bracing features a hand-scalloped Sitka spruce OX Bracing system, which maximizes the top’s vibration. For stage and studio amplification, it is equipped with the discreet Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 electro-acoustic system, with volume and tone controls located inside the soundhole. The construction is completed with a mahogany neck featuring a Slim C profile, a Pau Ferro fingerboard and bridge, genuine bone components, and a gloss finish in Antique Burst.

Tonewood Selection & Acoustic Geometry Jumbo Arched Back

The Guild F-250CE Deluxe is based on the historic Jumbo body shape, characterized by a wide lower bout that creates a large internal air volume and produces deep bass frequencies. The top is made of solid Sitka spruce, offering a high strength-to-weight ratio, a quick response, and ample dynamic headroom. The back and sides are made of flamed maple, shaped with an arched back and no internal bracing. This construction increases the body’s structural rigidity, allowing it to function as an acoustic reflector that directs sound waves forward, ensuring high sound pressure and clear note separation.

Scalloped OX Bracing Architecture & Dovetail Joint

Inside the instrument, a hand-scalloped Scalloped OX Bracing system made from quarter-sawn Sitka spruce is fitted. This design removes mass from less stressed areas, allowing the solid top to vibrate with a greater range of movement around the bridge. This mechanical architecture increases tonal sensitivity and extends note duration (sustain). The neck joins the body at the 14th fret using the classic Dovetail Neck Joint, ensuring a rigid wood-to-wood connection and unimpeded transmission of sound waves throughout the instrument.

Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 Electro-Acoustic System

Electro-acoustic amplification is provided by the Guild/Fishman Sonitone GT-1 system, which accurately reproduces the instrument’s natural acoustic character in live performances and recordings. The piezoelectric transducer is positioned beneath the bone saddle, directly capturing the strings’ vibrations and the soundboard’s pulsating energy. The preamp features rotary volume (Volume) and tone (Tone) controls fitted to the inner edge of the soundhole, preserving the wood’s surface without external cuts in the sides. The circuit is powered by a standard 9V battery housed in a dedicated compartment beside the output jack.

Slim C Ergonomics, Pau Ferro & Natural Bone Components

The mahogany neck features a slim Slim C profile, reducing left-hand fatigue and allowing smooth playing across the 25.5" (648 mm) scale length. The integrated soft cutaway provides easy access up to the 20th fret. The fingerboard and bridge are made from Pau Ferro with a 16" (406 mm) radius, offering resistance to mechanical wear and a stable playing surface. The 1-11/16" (43 mm) nut and compensated saddle are made from natural bone, ensuring accurate intonation and optimal energy transfer, while the enclosed Guild Tuning Machines with a 16:1 ratio provide smooth and reliable tuning.
