Description & Specifications

Tonewood Selection & A.R.E. Aging Technology

The Yamaha TAS1 E is based on a Concert (Small Body) design without a cutaway, offering high tonal clarity, a quick response, and excellent balance across the frequency range—ideal qualities for fingerstyle techniques and detailed playing. The top is made from solid Sitka spruce, treated using A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) technology, a thermal and humidity-controlled process. This molecular modification of the cellulose removes natural resins and moisture, giving the guitar the acoustic response and open tone of a well-aged instrument.

Second-Generation TransAcoustic Technology & Built-In Effects

Two electromagnetic exciters (Actuators) are installed inside the instrument, converting processed digital signals into physical mechanical vibrations directly on the guitar’s soundboard. This design allows the Reverb (Room, Hall), Chorus and Delay effects to be reproduced by the wooden body itself, projecting sound into the surrounding space without requiring a connection to an external amplifier, pedalboard or audio interface. The piezoelectric sensor accurately captures the strings’ vibrations and sends them to the digital signal processor (DSP), which delivers excellent dynamic clarity and allows immediate tone adjustments.

Built-in Looper & Bluetooth Connectivity

The model features a digital Looper system, allowing you to record acoustic phrases and layer sounds (overdubs) in real time. The circuit is controlled via a discreet touch sensor (Tap Sensor) located on the upper part of the guitar top, providing instant loop start, stop, and undo functions. In addition, Bluetooth 5.0 Audio lets you wirelessly stream backing tracks or music directly to the guitar’s speaker. Effects adjustment, EQ calibration, and storage of up to 10 loop files are managed through the companion TAG Remote App.

5-Piece Neck Ergonomics, Ebony Components & Power Supply

The neck is made of a 5-ply mahogany and rosewood laminate, providing high structural rigidity and resistance to warping caused by climate changes. The fingerboard and bridge are made of solid ebony, offering resistance to mechanical wear and a smooth playing surface. The nut and saddle are made of natural bone, ensuring direct energy transfer from the strings to the soundboard. The electronics are powered by a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, providing up to 5.5 hours of operation. It is charged externally via a magnetic charging connector. Tuning is supported by open-gear Champagne-Gold tuners with a stable and precise gear ratio.
