American Arcadia for PS5 combines 2.5D platforming action with first-person puzzle-solving. The story takes place in Arcadia, a retro-futuristic metropolis in the 1970s, where residents are watched live around the clock and a drop in viewership can prove fatal. The narrative is presented as a documentary, featuring interviews and police interrogations, while gameplay alternates between two characters with different settings and play styles.
The 2.5D sections feature platforming, chases, stealth and puzzles. In the fully 3D first-person sections, exploration is combined with hacking, stealth and additional puzzles. The Collector’s Edition includes the game, a 230-page art book, a CD soundtrack, a magnetic badge, a reversible cover, TV Zapping cards and a collector’s box.
