The aluminum J-shaped tonearm of the turntable, inspired by classic A-T models from the 1960s and 1970s, is equipped with a newly designed AT-LT10 headshell and an AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with dimensions of 0.3 x 0.7 mil, delivering excellent channel separation and elliptical tracking performance. For easy customization, the stylus can be replaced with any of the five additional styli in the VM95 series, and the VTA (vertical tracking angle) adjustment and tonearm counterweight allow the use of a wide range of other cartridges.
The AT-LP8X plays 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM records. The 25 mm die-cast aluminum platter with rubber damping, anti-resonance, features a 2.5 mm rubber mat and is driven by a sensor-controlled motor that ensures continuously accurate platter rotation speed. The motor and its efficient internal switching power supply are housed in a box-shaped plinth made of 16 mm MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and equipped with height-adjustable feet for excellent protection against unwanted noise and vibrations.
The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (dual male RCA to dual male RCA with ground), a 45 RPM adapter, and a removable dust cover.
