Felting or needle felting is a traditional craft still preserved today in several cultures. There are two known techniques: wet felting with warm water and dry felting with a special needle. The felting needle has several barbs near its sharp tip; through repeated action, these barbs entangle the wool fibers, causing them to felt and compact.
