The Eko Guitars Aire 701 Wildwood Natural is a modern double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed for technical versatility and exceptional ergonomic precision. Its body is made from solid Paulownia wood with an Okoume top veneer in a natural satin finish, offering an exceptionally lightweight feel and balanced acoustic resonance. The bolt-on neck is made from roasted maple with a slim Eko Special profile, paired with a roasted maple fingerboard, a 25.5-inch scale length, and 24 frets. The electronics feature a versatile HSS pickup configuration with a push-pull coil-split function on the bridge humbucker. The hardware is rounded out by a two-point synchronized tremolo with independent saddles and sealed locking tuners for optimal tuning stability.
Basic Features
Paulownia Body Construction & Okoume Top
The guitar body is based on the modern Aire design, crafted from selected Paulownia wood and paired with an Okoume top. Paulownia is known for its exceptionally low weight, significantly reducing strain during extended playing, while offering an open, quick acoustic response. The Okoume top provides additional structural rigidity, balancing the mid and high frequencies with a clear, dynamic attack. The body features sculpted ergonomic contours on the back and at the forearm contact point.
Roasted Maple Neck & Fingerboard
The neck and fingerboard are made from thermally treated maple (Roasted Maple). The controlled-vacuum roasting process completely removes residual moisture and alters the fiber structure, providing exceptional stability against warping caused by changes in temperature and humidity. The neck is shaped to the ergonomic Eko Special Shape profile, with a slim thickness and satin finish for smooth thumb movement. The fingerboard has a 12" (305 mm) radius and a 25.5" (648 mm) scale length, and features 24 Medium Jumbo frets with smoothed ends for comfortable soloing and precise intonation.
HSS Electronics, Push-Pull & Mounting Hardware
The electrical circuit features an HSS configuration with passive Eko Rock pickups, delivering clean, crisp single-coil tones in the neck and middle positions, along with a solid high-gain signal from the bridge humbucker. The Master Tone pot includes a built-in Push-Pull Coil-Split switch, allowing one coil of the bridge pickup to be isolated for classic Stratocaster-style sounds. The hardware includes a two-point 2-Point Tremolo for smooth vibrato action and sealed Locking Tuners, ensuring stable tuning and faster string changes.
