The Plews Tyres MX3 Foxhills GP Hard Rear 100/90-19 is a rear Motocross tyre for Hard Terrain, designed for very hard, fast and rocky tracks. The MX3 Foxhills GP is inspired by the British Foxhill track in Swindon and has been developed for traction, stability and control in demanding hard-terrain conditions.
Its design combines LFC (Lateral Flex Control), CCT (Chipping and Chunking Tread) and CCRC (Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound) technologies with an asymmetric tread pattern and larger, specially shaped knobs. This version is Rear 100/90-19 and is listed by Plews Tyres as NHS (Non Homologated / Not for Highway Service), so it is not intended for use on public roads.
LFC – Lateral Flex Control LFC (Lateral Flex Control) technology concerns the tyre’s carcass design and uses high-quality race polyester for a lightweight, heat-resistant construction. LFC is designed to control the carcass’s lateral flexibility, helping provide stability and control for the motorcycle, even in demanding Motocross conditions.
CCT – Chipping and Chunking Tread CCT (Chipping and Chunking Tread) technology concerns the tread design philosophy and has been developed for Intermediate and Hard Terrain, including surfaces with rocks and stones. During development, specialised contact-patch testing equipment is used to ensure the tread is effectively supported at high lean angles and under increased loads. The design aims to reduce the likelihood of chipping and chunking—that is, wear, breakage and pieces coming off the knobs.
CCRC – Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound CCRC (Chipping & Chunking Resistant Compound) is a rubber compound developed to provide increased resistance to chipping, chunking and tearing. According to Plews Tyres, its UK-based chemistry team uses specialised testing equipment to measure rubber loss over time. This data is used in compound development to improve its resistance to the stresses generated on hard and rocky terrain.
Asymmetric tread design The tread patterns of the front and rear MX3 Foxhills GP feature an asymmetric left-to-right layout. This design aims to improve the contact patch with the ground, enhancing traction and stability on hard surfaces.
Larger, specially shaped knobs The larger knobs have an increased surface area, with the aim of providing better feel and greater comfort when riding on hard terrain. Special cuts and details in the knobs are also designed to improve bite and ground feel, enhancing traction and control.
Developed for Hard Terrain The MX3 Foxhills GP is designed for very hard, fast and rocky Motocross tracks. The combination of LFC, CCT and CCRC, the asymmetric tread pattern and the larger knobs has been developed to meet the increased demands for traction, stability and durability on Hard Terrain.
NHS – Not for Highway Service This Rear 100/90-19 size is listed by Plews Tyres as NHS (Non Homologated / Not for Highway Service). This means the tyre is not approved for use on public roads and is intended for off-road and Motocross track use. The 80/100-21 and 120/90-18 sizes are listed separately by Plews Tyres as Road Legal with DOT and ECE Homologation. This approval does not apply to the 100/90-19.
