Description

The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 is an FDM 3D printer with a CoreXY motion system and an enclosed chamber. It features a Dual-Gear Direct drive extruder and supports printing with filaments for a range of applications. Fully automatic calibration includes 121-point bed leveling, while the built-in camera lets you monitor prints. Multicolor printing is supported via the CANVAS system, available separately.

Two 4260 stepper motors independently drive the X and Y axes, which use low-friction metal linear rails. The one-piece frame and die-cast aluminum base help reduce vibration, while the Z-axis is supported by three trapezoidal lead screws and three metal linear rails, with the build plate mounted at three points. Print accuracy is ±0.1 mm, and layer height is adjustable from 0.1 to 0.4 mm, with 0.2 mm recommended. The 260 × 260 mm build plate is made of double-sided spring steel, with a textured PEI surface on one side and a side specially designed for PLA on the other. A filament runout sensor, clog detection, automatic filament loading, fan control, and print recovery after a power outage round out the printing features. The printer also has silent motion controllers on all axes, LED lighting, and a HEPA filter with an activated carbon layer.
