The Baader Contrast Booster filter improves contrast when observing planets and the Moon, while reducing the purple tint seen in achromatic refractors. Its special neodymium glass and coatings filter out defocused blue wavelengths, preserving colors and minimizing light loss. Transmission exceeds 95% in the main parts of the visible spectrum, including H-Alpha.

The filter enhances contrast in details such as Jupiter’s cloud bands and dark features on Mars. For digital photography, it can be combined with the Baader UV-IR-Cut filter.
