It does its job. The setup is easy. There is web management where you can adjust some settings. The manual is not detailed but sufficient for the basics. You can find the rest afterwards. It can also be connected with WPS by pressing a button.
You can broadcast with a different SSID name and a different or the same password as the main network you are extending. However, you cannot change the channel, which I would have liked to do, but so far I haven't found any similar device that can do it. I would have liked something that can route between two networks, but this is not it. It is (almost) in bridge mode like most devices I know.
The reception is satisfactory. It captures quite well, but not much better than a typical laptop. Its placement should be in a spot where it can capture your laptop's main network. The extension it provides is also typical. It is as good as having a regular router in the spot where you placed it. Of course, I haven't done detailed measurements and I can't because I have limited space where I want to extend the existing network, and it is sufficient for that.
It has two other modes (to function as an AP with an ethernet connection to the switch, and as a wifi antenna/network card to ethernet) which I haven't tried.
Lastly, it is generally "stable" in its operation, but sometimes (rarely) it freezes and requires a restart.
